Here's the cabbage dye with the ammonia modifier:
While it looks like the fabric turned green, that's a previously dyed piece (left). The white remnant (right) that was used as a benchmark didn't take any of the green dye. We learned that ammonia definitely requires a mordant partner. Bummer.
And finally, here's the cabbage dye with the vinegar modifier and alum mordant duo:
It turned the fabric a deeper shade of blue!
